Baxter Creek Band is a 6 piece hard driving blues/ rock band in the Kawarthas featuring cover tunes as well as original material. The band was formed back in August of 2008 by Bassist Downtown Dave Picco and Fred Clark ( Lead Guitar & Vocals) After a few personnel changes Baxter Creek band started to really developed a tight sound. Phil Douglas an incredible lead guitarist, with back up vocals and brings to the band definite awesome cutting edge riffs. The band added Larry Black a seasoned drummer who has himself played with numerous bands over the years and adds his strong Vocals , Brian Hitchlock brings to Baxter Creek Band a strong presence in Vocals and keyboards and assumes the role of front man for Baxter Creek band. Last but certainly not least is Johnny Baker aka (the harp guru) Johnny can really wail on his harp and does magnificent fills and lead work when it is called for.

  2. Hey guys and girl!
I had a wonderfull time Saturday night listening to you's. As usual! You are all wonderfull and you were the best band there! I'm looking forward to the next time I get to see and hear you play. Kodos to the harmonica! Unlike the others, you complemented your band instead of drownding them out!!
    Way to go!!

I don't usually write something in the comment section of my Bands Blog but I felt compelled to do so on this occasion.
    here we go

We are very much honored to be a participant in a concert being held to benefit the Band of Brothers
    Canadian forces Troops

On August 8th 2009 in a town just East or Peterborough called Norwood Ontario there is going to be a gigantic event staged in honor of our Canadian Forces Troops ( The wounded, The never forgotten, The brave men and women) awaiting deployment to foreign lands. In this day and age it is imperative that we have soldiers that are ready to fight against oppression here at home and abroad. This is not their fight, they certainly did not wake up one morning from the safety of their homes and families and ask to be in a war but, as soldiers ready to stand up and correct the imbalances of a third world country they are there and, in a situation to make a difference. They are Brave, They are Honest They are our neighbors .They are Sons. They are Daughters. They are Nieces. and ,They are Nephews and I know sure as I sit here composing this letter that I am not alone when I say that I as a Free man Thanks to all the brave the Veterans (including My father and five of his Brothers some of who never returned) from past wars am one Dam proud Canadian that is glad to call them My band of Brothers and Sisters. I have never been know as a religious person but I do thank God for the safe and speedy return of all involved in this war.

  13. Hi Dave! I am sure that I am speaking for many. To offer your talents to help out with Band of Brothers and our injured troops, shows how truly a proud Canadian you are. As the mother of a soldier and a friend to many of his comrades there are no words that I can say as to how grateful I am.
